IP Management Clinic for Green and Sustainability-Focused SMEs and Startups

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) are launching the 2026 edition of the IP Management Clinic for Green and Sustainability-Focused SMEs and Startups, a free program designed to support 30 selected companies in strengthening their intellectual property management capabilities and business strategies.

The initiative targets innovative SMEs and startups based in EU Member States, EFTA countries, and Ukraine, particularly those working in areas such as climate tech, clean energy, circular economy, sustainable manufacturing, and environmental services.

Selected participants will benefit from:

  • Three to four personalised one-to-one mentoring sessions with IP and business experts experienced in sustainable technologies;
  • Online thematic workshops on IP strategy, protection, commercialisation, investment readiness, and sector-specific challenges;
  • Practical guidance on WIPO and EUIPO digital IP tools;
  • Peer-to-peer networking opportunities with other participating companies;
  • An in-person closing event in Alicante, Spain, tentatively planned for November 2026.

Eligibility criteria: 

  • An SME or start-up in climate-tech, clean energy, circular economy, sustainable manufacturing or related fields
  • Based in the EU, EFTA or Ukraine
  • A team of at least two
